The trees in the park abutting my house at 1041 Adams Street are growing into my yard and onto my house. Several years ago, my homeowners insurance company let me know that my insurance would be cancelled if the trees/branches were not removed. The constituent states theres multiple trees that is located in Dorchester Park overgrowing into his property. He has created cases and informed by a Parks dept call taker that it will be looked over and they will take care of it. When you go into the system youll see the history of this tree report. The constituent still didnt get any responses in regards to this issue. The city tree was not maintained and the tree branches debris was falling into his property and damaged some of his property. The gardeners at the Penniman Community Garden are keen to have the London Plane Tree pruned. It drops branches in high winds and casts a fair amount of shade over the garden in mid morning hours. I am writing to request tree pruning and assessment for the Rogers Park area that abuts 462 and 470 Washington Parking lots- there is severe overgrowth from the park that is affecting the noted properties. Branches are damaging parking lot lighting, and overhanging branches that cross the property line should be pruned to minimize risk of a branch falling onto a person/car in our lot. There is also severe overgrowth of bushes/weeds that affects our ability to assess damage done from a tree falling on 12/18/23 next to the 470 Washington Lot. We will be filing a claim with the city for that damage but want to make sure the city takes appropriate action to minimize risk of this happening again. There are also reports of a rat population in the woods at Rogers Park- we have increased our pest control but the city needs to service its property as well Please detail a response to all items noted in the above paragraph.
