96 Beachview Rd, East Boston, Ma, 02128(102 Beachview Road) The abandoned building and adjacent vacant lot located behind my property in East Boston, which have remained in a neglected and poorly maintained condition for approximately four years. The property contains excessive overgrown vegetation, unmanaged landscaping, and general lack of maintenance that regularly spills beyond the property boundaries, directly littering my yard and negatively impacting neighboring properties. In addition, the abandoned structure appears to be harboring rodents, including rats, which raises serious public health and safety concerns for the surrounding homes. These conditions create an ongoing nuisance, detract from the safety and appearance of the residential neighborhood, and interfere with residents’ use and enjoyment of their properties. Under Massachusetts General Laws, including M.G.L. Chapter 139, Sections 1 and 3, municipalities have authority to address buildings or land maintained in a condition that constitutes a nuisance or hazard, and M.G.L. Chapter 128, Section 24 provides authority to address harmful vegetation and neglected land conditions. I respectfully request that the appropriate authorities investigate this property and require the owner to properly maintain, secure, and clean both the structure and the vacant lot to bring the property into compliance with applicable state laws and local property maintenance regulations.

468 E Sixth St, South Boston, Ma, 02127There is a very large rat that appears to have burrowed under my back patio and is moving between my yard and neighboring yards. This began recently after the first-floor renters at 61 Story St started allowing their dog to use their small backyard as a bathroom. I have lived here for 7 years and have never seen rats in this area before. The rat is digging and creating burrows under the patio, and I’m concerned it may spread to other properties. Finally saw it today

162 Ashmont St, Dorchester, Ma, 02124I would like to report an outdoor rodent problem in my neighborhood that appears to be getting worse. I have repeatedly seen rats running along the street and sidewalks in the area of 162 Ashmont Street. Recently, the rodents have been entering my driveway and getting closer to the property. They have eating through trash and causing damage. The sightings occur frequently, particularly during the evening hours, and the rodents are clearly active outdoors rather than isolated to one location. Their presence near residential properties is concerning for sanitation and public health reasons. I am requesting that the city investigate the area to identify possible sources of the infestation, such as improperly stored trash, debris, or other conditions that may be attracting rodents, and take appropriate action to address the issue.
