Description: I am writing to report a severe public health and sanitation violation in the backyard of the property located at 366 East 8th Street, South Boston. The residents do not clean up accumulated dog feces from the backyard. When they do gather it, it is stored in an open, uncovered bucket left outdoors on the property. The accumulation has created an overwhelming, hazardous stench that can be smelled from 50+ feet away, penetrating neighboring properties and preventing nearby residents from using their outdoor spaces. This open, decaying animal waste creates a severe public health hazard by attracting flies, rats, and other vermin to a set of tightly packed row houses. Please route this to the Inspectional Services Department (ISD) / Environmental Health division to investigate the unsanitary conditions, vector hazards, and improper waste storage.
