- I would like to report an ongoing issue involving off-leash dogs on the walking path near my home in South Boston. Although this area is not a designated off-leash dog park, it is regularly being used as one by multiple residents. Many of the dogs are not under reliable voice control and frequently run up to leashed dogs and pedestrians. Today, while I was walking my dog on leash, an off-leash dog approached us and the owner was unable to recall their dog after I warned that my dog is reactive and not friendly with other dogs. This created a stressful and potentially unsafe situation. This appears to be a recurring issue, particularly during mid-afternoon and early-evening, and it makes it difficult for people to safely use the path as intended. I am requesting increased signage, reminders about leash rules, or enforcement in the area before someone or another dog gets injured.
