- I would like to report concerns regarding a property on my block. For well over a month, I have personally observed rats entering and exiting through the side door of the building on multiple occasions. I also observed that the exterior front porch door has been removed, leaving the porch opening exposed. In addition, the interior door leading from the porch into the building has been left open. A neighbor informed me that rats have been seen inside the hallway areas of the building. While I have not personally witnessed this, I felt it was worth mentioning. Since this spring, I have also noticed a significant increase in rat activity in my own backyard. I cannot say whether it is related to the conditions at this property, but I am concerned there may be a connection. My concern is for both the residents of the building and the surrounding neighborhood. Regardless of whether the housing is subsidized, all residents deserve to live in a clean, safe, and well-maintained home. I have attached photographs showing the side door and the condition of the front porch entrance.
