- A CONSPIRACY that goes to the very top is afoot in Beacon Hill. Last summer, a statehouse rep hit a white truck parked on Hancock St. This truck was quickly replaced, through a likely settlement, with a brand new white truck. But the terms of the settlement clearly went further - the truck now keeps the same resident parking spot perpetually as if it is a private spot, with no recourse from the city. When it does rarely leave, its owner places traffic cones to “reserve” the spot until the truck returns, impermissible spot savers. Today, the truck is clearly getting work done at Herb Chambers - it disappeared, it’s owner put cones out, and the truck was replaced by a Herb Chambers loaner car after the cones were removed. This has not gone unnoticed by the other residents of Hancock St who are not allowed such special private parking. We can only hope that one day this particular resident will be caught in the act and the true terms of what was negotiated last summer are revealed. For now, come ON 311
