- The constituent would like someone to come out and inspect this area. There was a huge tree that fell at this location. As well as 28 W cedar st. It is located across the street at this location. The crane is the one that hit the tree to cause it to come down. The tree is still loose and its a safety hazard. Case Resolved. All public street trees in the City of Boston and Massachusetts are protected by state law (MGL CH 87). The tree in question does not show any indications of soil movement or uprooting at the time of inspection. The BPRD Urban Forestry Division is unable to remove a live and healthy public shade tree for the reason requested.
