I am writing to report a recurring violation of the City of Boston Noise Ordinance related to early-morning commercial trash pickup. Every day Mon-Fri around 6am (sometimes 5-6am), a private waste hauler empties the restaurant dumpsters located directly below my apartment windows. These dumpsters serve several restaurants next to my building. The collection process produces extremely loud mechanical noise, beeping sounds, and metal noise, which consistently wakes me up and has significantly affected my sleep and well-being. Because this activity occurs before 7:00 AM, it appears to violate Boston regulations governing commercial trash collection in residential areas. The activity is ongoing and happens daily, not occasionally. I politely request that the City investigate this issue, notify the responsible hauler or businesses, and enforce the proper collection hours (ideally after 8am) so that residents are not disturbed by early-morning noise.
