What is the nature of the problem: [Constituent reports constant issues with people breaking into the vacant building at 10 Highgate St, Allston. Constituent states that the developers of the property seldom maintain it, and people tear off the plywood covering the windows to get inside, break open doors of the building, or climb the fire escape to gain access. Constituent states that the building was resealed a week ago but has already been broken into again. Constituent states they have spoken to people in the Mayor's office about this ongoing issue, and have been told that it's being looked into, but hasn't received anything on solutions to the ongoing problem. Constituent states that, since people are frequenting this vacant building, many trash items are illegally dumped on the property, with the constituent stating that they witness someone dump bags of trash against the building earlier today. The house at 87 Farrar Ave in Hyde Park, 02136, appears to be abandoned. The owner, as far as we know, was an elderly woman who lived there, but she no longer resides there. Since she left, no maintenance has been done on the property. It looks almost like a forest has grown up around it entirely. No work has been done in the yard, on the sidewalks, or anywhere else around the house. It seems like it's about to fall apart—more than just an eyesore. Is there anything that can be done ? What is the nature of the problem: [I called a week ago for someone to come by and address this bald faced hornet’s nest on the abandoned house next door to mine. A member of the house has a LIFE THREATENING allergy to these hornets and is afraid to leave the house. The hornets have begun swarming by the doors at 6 Arcadia (my house) in the afternoons, meaning that member of the house cannot leave the house until this is dealt with. Additionally, this house has been abandoned since at least September 2023 when I moved into the neighborhood. We have had raccoon problems on our property because of this abandoned house; we have also seen birds nesting in the roof. I was told that this would be resolved within a week and it hasn’t been. This DEADLY allergy to the hornets is making people unable to leave their house- PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!!]
