Utility trench across roadway needs to be filled in. It’s been two weeks with no ongoing work.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding the excessive noise and severe vibrations caused by the construction taking place directly across from my residence. The construction activity begins as early as 7:00 AM and occurs on a daily basis. The level of noise and vibration is excessive and has become extremely disruptive to my ability to sleep and rest in my own home. The vibrations are strong enough to be physically noticeable inside my residence, and the constant construction noise has made it extremely difficult to get adequate sleep. I work overnight shifts, making daytime sleep essential. Being subjected to this level of noise and vibration every morning has become unbearable and has caused significant stress and episodes of anxiety. I am effectively unable to rest in my own home due to the ongoing construction activity. I respectfully request that the City investigate this situation and determine whether the construction is complying with all applicable noise regulations, permitted working hours, and other relevant requirements. At a minimum, I strongly urge the City to consider requiring the construction crew to delay the start of particularly disruptive work by at least a couple of hours, especially work involving heavy machinery, demolition, or activities that cause significant vibrations. It is simply not reasonable or fair for residents to be expected to endure this level of disruption for months on end in their own homes solely for the benefit of a private construction project. Residents should not have to sacrifice their sleep, mental well-being, and quality of life because a developer or property owner has the financial means to carry out a major construction project. This situation is having a serious impact on my health, sleep, and quality of life. I ask that the City take this complaint seriously, conduct an appropriate inspection, and take whatever action is necessary to ensure that nearby residents are not subjected to unreasonable and prolonged disruption.

Dirt from FedCorp - they don’t cover their construction dirt/sand and it coats my car, and my kitchen counters and table if I leave my kitchen windows open (not a crazy choice in the summer)

Illegal street closure. Crew conducting unannounced street closure. No street closure permit posted or in system

Noise from construction company. DeRoma construction company on Grew Ave is causing noise disturbance every morning starting at 5:45 am. Can someone ask them to stop?

The MGH building at 275 cambridge street has been doing night construction for the past week until 1 am, keeping residents awake. This nighttime construction exceeds volume limits. Boston ordinance places a 50 db limit for nighttime construction. As you can see from the attached photo, the construction is averaging 59 db after 11 pm, which is a clear violation of Boston city noise ordinance. Please contact MGH to shut this nighttime work down and follow up with the resolution.
